In the 2022 DTM season, Team Schubert Motorsport had two reasons to celebrate. They had already won the team championship prior to the final race in Hockenheim, which provided more excitement than expected. A major pile-up left just 12 cars capable of lining up at the restart. In the reduced field, South African driver Sheldon van der Linde finished in third position, and consequently claimed the DTM Champion trophy for 2022.

Red-hot championship racing at home
The battle for the 2022 DTM season championship remained a tense affair between Sheldon van der Linde, Marco Wittmann and René Rast down to the final race.
